Mick Pascal finishes 5th at the downhill World Championships

Team Morewood United.

From all of us At Sombrio. Mick, A Huge congratulations to you on placing 5th at the World Championships at Champery Switzerland 2012. Thank you for being such an amazing ambassador to the sport over the years and we are all very proud of you, Tim, Fabien and the rest of your Morewood United Team mates !

Words from Fabien Cousinie team manager.

Mick shows once again that he is one of the best rider in the world when it comes to mud because the rain transformed the track into a battle field. Mick has made us dream, especially when he went with the fastest time in the first split. Passed the finish line Mick even took Sam Hill out of the hotseat.
The team is very proud of this results and it proves that there is many ways to achieve your goals.

The way Mick decided to follow with Morewood United Ride is one that resembles him meaning to ride with the same passion that he had 15 years ago without letting any trends come in the way. With his high handlebar, his full out rebound suspension and his flat pedals, Mick propelled his Morewood Makulu on the top.

Tim Bentley did his best result of the year and finished 32nd despite a crash at the end of the track.

A big thank you to all the sponsors of the team without them this adventure would not be possible !

Mick says:

“I had a good run even though there is some parts of the track were I could have done better, but it was so easy to do big mistakes and I’m glad I didn’t crash. I’m happy to finish the international season that way.
Fabien says:

“Watching a world championship and not be able to ride is always really frustrating. This weekend in Champéry Mick made me forget my foot injury. Mick really made me vibrate so much that when he passed I totally forgot to take pictures of him. As the team manager I’m very proud to have a rider in the top 5 at the worlds.

Morewood United at La Bresse. Cous Cous is Back and Mick places 14th !

The Morewood UnitedRide will keep good memories of world cup #6 in La Bresse, France.

It was the return in Europe for Mick and Tim, and it was Fabien’s come back after going through surgery 3 weeks ago. Our 3 riders all qualified on a dry track. Mick did 27th, Fabien 36th and it was tight for Tim who qualified 80th at 0.038.
The spectators were on fire for the final. The atmosphere was good even though the weather wasn’t that great. The track was now wet and would stay this way for the whole day. The first riders to start saw a bit of sunshine but for the others there was a constant drizzle on the first part of the track. Tim was the first one to go. He had a good run and finished 46th. For Fabien, the challenge was bigger under the drizzle with a broken foot. Being scared of taking his foot out, Fabien did not take any risk and finished 47th. He is happy about his come back since lets not forget he had surgery 3 weeks ago.
Even though Mick did some small mistakes, he finished 14th, his best result of the year. It’s too bad to know that his foot slipped at the start because he could have clearly finished in the top 10 since he’s only at 0.5 seconds. Mick will be protected for the next race at Val Di Sole because this good result place him 20th at the overall ranking.
The team is extremely motivated for the last race in Italy on the 20th-21st of August, but for now they are getting ready for the French Cup in Oz-en-Oisans.
